The 2006 American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists'
will be held on October 12-13, 2006 at the Hotel Allegro in Chicago,
Illinois. The format of the meeting will be similar to the programs of
previous years and should consist of general sessions and simultaneous dual
abstract sessions.
Individuals who wish to present abstracts at the ACVA
meeting are encouraged to do so. Oral presentations of each accepted
abstract will be about 12 minutes in length with three minutes allowed for
questions and change of speakers. The deadline for submission of
abstracts is June 1, 2006. Abstracts may be submitted by surface
mail, fax, or through electronic mail. Abstracts will be coded, blinded,
and forwarded to the Education Committee to determine suitability for
presentation. Following review by the Education Committee, authors will
be notified by August 15, 2006
regarding abstract acceptance. Preference will be given to abstracts that
have not been published or presented elsewhere. If space does not allow
all accepted abstracts to be presented, a poster session will be
scheduled. Please indicate in your cover letter your preference for an
oral or poster presentation. Should a poster session be required, the
Education Committee will try to accommodate the author's preference but will
reserve the right to assign authors to the poster session if scheduling
constraints necessitate that option. All accepted abstracts, whether
given as oral presentations or as poster presentations, will be printed in the
proceedings distributed at the meeting.
The abstract form and two copies of the abstract should be
submitted to Dr. Riebold at the address below. Please circle, highlight,
or otherwise designate the keywords of your abstract for the index on one of
the copies of your abstract(s). Additionally, it is requested that a copy
of the abstract be sent on disk, preferably as a Word Perfect, Word, or ASCII
file, if you do not use electronic submission. The abstract form and
instructions for its use are available as files on the ACVA web site. If
desired, individuals may obtain the kits from Dr. Riebold. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact
me.
