ACVA 27th Annual Meeting-Orlando 2002

 

This year’s annual meeting will be held on October 10-11, 2002 in Orlando Florida. The ACVA oral certification examination will be held prior to the meeting on October 8-9th. The American Society of Anesthesiologists symposium is also scheduled in Orlando, starting on October 12th.

 

The ACVA symposium and certification examination will both be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel International Drive/Convention Center. The address is 8978 International Drive, Orlando Florida 32819. The hotel is located less than one mile from the Convention Center (site for the ASA symposium) and Pointe Orlando. Sea World is about 2 miles away and Walt Disney World, EPCOT center, Animal Kingdom and MGM studios is about 8 miles away, and the Orlando International Airport is 12 miles. The hotel has a cafe, and a lounge and there are many restaurants within walking distance.

The ACVA has a block of rooms reserved at a discount rate for our symposium. To reserve a room, you may directly dial the Embassy Suites Hotel at 1-800-433-7275 and ask for the ACVA rate. All accommodations are deluxe suites including a full American cooked-to-order breakfast, a two-hour complimentary beverage reception nightly and complimentary scheduled shuttle service for guests to the Walt Disney theme parks!

The special ACVA suite rates for the nights of 10/8 - 10/12/02 are $99.00 for a king non-smoking room, and $109.00 for a double/double non-smoking room. Each suite has a parlor and a bedroom. The parlor has a wet bar, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. It also has a dining/work area and a full bath. In the parlor is also a full size sleeper sofa, a phone with dataport and a television set. In the bedroom is the king or 2 double beds, a marble vanity with sink and hair dryer, another television set, and a clock radio. This set up is ideal for families or for multiple adults sharing the room. Children under 17 stay free in the same suite with parents. An additional $10.00 will be added by the hotel to the suite rate per adult, per suite above double occupancy. Local tax is 11%. The hotel also offers two pools, a sauna, steam room and whirlpool, a fitness room and guest services desk to purchase area attraction tickets.
